Introduction

Greetings Champions!

It feels like it was only recently that we were celebrating our full release at Gamescom - and it’s already time for 1.1!

In update 1.1, we’re welcoming our 4th Omeda original Hero, Skylar, an aerial combat ace with some serious alien tech! Spooky season is officially kicking off too with the return of Shadow’s Eve, and of course, we have a bunch of new features, improvements, and bug fixes, alongside some highly requested community features (mouse and keyboard support on console anyone?)

Let’s get stuck in!

New Hero: Skylar - The Winged Marauder!

Aerial Ace, Skylar, soars onto the battlefield!

Things just got more vertical! With her trusty, high-tech jetpack, Skylar can hover above the battlefield and rain destruction on her enemies below.

Stats:

Health: 730 (+122)

Health Regen: 1.5 (+0.2)

Mana: 320 (+45)

Mana Regen: 1.5 (+0.2)

Physical Power: 57 (+2)

Attack Speed: 130 (+1.5)

Physical Armor: 20 (+3.35)

Magical Armor: 23 (+0.75)

Movement Speed: 650

Abilities:

Dissonance [Passive]:

Enemy Units killed by Skylar explode after 0.75s, dealing 30 (+5 per level) physical damage to nearby Enemies within 350u. If the Target is an Enemy Hero, the explosion damage and radius is tripled.

Additionally, Skylar utilises her Jetpack to gain increased Jump Height.

Starfire [Basic Attack]:

BAT: 1.5
Effect: Skylar’s basic Ranged attack, dealing 57 (+75% Bonus Physical Power) physical damage.

Plasma Grenade [Primary]:

CD: 14/13/12/11/10
Cost: 50/55/60/65/70
Effect: Skylar launches a bouncing Nano Bubble that attaches to the first Target hit for 0.75s and deals 25/40/55/70/85 (+20% Bonus Physical Power) physical damage.

After the duration, the Target and nearby Enemies take 70/100/130/160/190 (+90% Bonus Physical Power)(+50% Magical Power) physical damage and are Slowed by 40%/45%/50%/55%/60% for 1s.

Air Assault [Secondary]:

CD: 24/21.5/19/16.5/14
Cost: 70
Effect: Skylar thrusts upwards in her current direction and gains the ability to Glide for 3.25s. While Gliding, Skylar’s Movement Speed is increased by 25%.

During this time, dealing damage will cause Skylar to fire a missile that deals 25/35/45/55/65 (+15% Bonus Physical Power)(+10% Magical Power) physical damage to the Target.

Hypercharge can only trigger missiles once every second, decreasing with additional Bonus Attack Speed.

Hypercharge [Alternate]:

CD: 6
Cost: 80/90/100/110/120
Effect:
Skylar Hypercharges Starfire, augmenting her Basic Attack for the next 5s. Takedowns refresh the duration.

While Hypercharge is active, Skylar converts Bonus Attack Speed into additional On-Hit damage and her Basic Attack fires at a fixed rate of 10 attacks per second.

Each hit deals 1/3/5/7/9 (+11% Total Physical Power)(+6% Magical Power)(+15% Bonus Attack Speed) physical damage per instance and applies On-Hit effects at 12% effectiveness. Dealing Damage to the same target within 1s increases the damage dealt to them by 1.25%, stacking up to 20 times.

At maximum stacks, Hypercharge deals additional damage equal to 6/9/12/15/18% of the Target's Total Physical Armor.

Passive: Basic Attacks deal 4/8/12/16/20 (+10% Total Physical Power) bonus physical damage On-Hit.

Atomiser [Ultimate]:

CD: 120/100/80
Cost: 100
Effect: Skylar charges up her weapon for 0.5s before unleashing a large Orb of energy. The Orb explodes upon hitting an Enemy Hero or Terrain, dealing 200/330/460 (+135% Bonus Physical Power)(+100% Magical Power)(+15/20/25% of Target’s missing health) physical damage to all nearby Enemies.

Atomiser’s Missing Health Damage is capped at 300/450/600 against Non-Heroes.

Role Bundle Discounts

You may remember all the way back in update v0.16 we added new bundles for each role with an introductory discount to celebrate their arrival. Well, it’s finally time for these bundles to head back towards their standard price, but not all the way just yet… the offer continues with a slightly reduced discount for each of the bundles and a new price of 650 Platinum.

Note - these are dynamic bundles so the price will reduce based on what you already own.

Console Improvements

Unfortunately due to certification complications, some of the following features have been delayed for PlayStation users. For more information, see here.

PlayStation Trophies

Trophy hunters rejoice! PlayStation players can now earn a bunch of different trophies, let the platinum run begin!

Console 120 FPS Mode

PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X are getting a huge performance upgrade with 1.1! We’ve optimised the game to run at a buttery-smooth 120FPS.

Localisation

We're excited to announce Predecessor has been localised for consoles in German, French, Italian, Simplified Chinese and Brazilian-Portuguese!

Aim Assist

Aim assist for console players can now be toggled on or off so you can choose how you want to play! Additionally, we’ve also made some tweaks to improve aim assist when enemy players are closer to the camera.

Mouse & Keyboard Support

This is perhaps one of the most requested quality-of-life improvements among console players, so we’re very excited to announce mouse and keyboard support is coming to PlayStation and Xbox in this update!

Draft Improvements

We implemented a lot of changes to the Draft and Role Select screens with 1.0 back in August, and we’ve been listening intently to your feedback since then to offer even more changes and improvements to the whole Draft experience.

Draft Main0

Draft Voice Lines

Some players reported a little confusion when selecting the same role as others during role select. To help with clarity, we’ve added a new voice line telling you which lane you’ve been assigned before heading into draft.

We also wanted to add some extra prompts that we hope will help to reduce the amount of accidental draft mishaps. We've probably all been there - gazing off into space while we're meant to be picking our Hero. So upon entering the Draft you'll be prompted to select your Hero.

Once you've selected your Hero, the VO reminds you to lock-in!

Finally, as the timer hits 10 seconds, the VO will tell you "Time's running out"

Ability Videos

For newer players heading into draft, whether it’s vs AI or PvP, picking a new Hero can be a bit daunting as you’re usually going in with only a description of what their abilities do. With 1.1 we’ve added small ability videos for each Hero and ability to provide further clarity on what each Hero can do.

Ability Videos

This isn’t just for the draft screen either! You can head into the Hero Ability section in the Main Menu to take a closer look at them too.

Ability Menu

Note - some Heroes have Passive abilities that are difficult to show clearly, for these cases we’ve opted to not include them for now but are looking into solutions.

Removed Subclasses

Subclasses in the draft screen were added in 1.0 and we saw that players felt it cluttered the screen without really offering much more in terms of information. So we’ve removed the subclasses in 1.1 to keep things clean and tidy. Thanks to everyone for the feedback!

Affinity Progress in the Draft Screen

Hero Affinity has become a popular feature for players to work towards, but the information isn’t as accessible as we’d like it to be, until now!

Affinity progress for every Hero is now visible in the draft screen at the top of each Hero’s thumbnail, so you can easily see how far you have to go until the next affinity level.

Role Select Changes

We had some feedback from mouse and keyboard players who felt the extra click to “lock-in” your role during Role Select wasn’t necessary. Upon reviewing the change, we agree!

Mouse & Keyboard players will be able to select and lock-in their role in one simple click. You’ll still be able to deselect the role if you change your mind though.

Players Names in Role Select

Currently when a role is picked, the game simply shows a number next to the icon. Continuing on with our mission to improve clarity within the game, we’ve made a change to show player names here, rather than just a number.

Role Names0

Hero Camera Positions

Let’s be honest, some Heroes in the Draft screen looked a little… small. When you pick a Hero, they should feel like a Hero! So we’ve updated the camera position for all of our Heroes so they have a much better sense of scale. Check the comparison out below!

DraftNew

Lane Lock Clarity

To help ensure players know which role they were assigned during Role Select, the screen will now show you exactly which role you’re about to play. This, alongside the newly added voiceline should really help to ensure players have all the information they need to pick the right Hero for the job.

RoleSelect Confirm

Post Match Screen Improvements

It’s no secret that some players weren’t huge fans of the new post-match screen we introduced in 1.0. We really appreciate the feedback and we’ve made some adjustments here to make everyone’s stats much easier to digest:

PostMatch1.1
  • Each stat section highlights the player who came on top in this particular category.

  • Your own stats are now in the middle of the screen and mirror your direct opponent. This should make it easier to compare how you did vs the enemy laner.

  • Your stat column is also highlighted so you immediately know where to look.

Some players were accidentally adding or blocking other players with the old setup, so we’ve added a contextual menu where you can add, block or report the people you just played with, without any accidents!

Other Improvements

Chat Readability Upgrade

Another area of community feedback has been the readability of the in-game chat. We’ve made some improvements to it in update 1.1 to ensure chat and system messages are much easier to see.

Renamed Item Slots

Item slot 1, 2 and 3 weren’t very descriptive, particularly for new players who wondered what they even were! We’ve changed the name of these in the keybind menu to their relevant item: Blink, Utility (Hunt/Potion), Crest, Vision (Ward/Sentry).

Jump Pad VFX

While researching the new player experience, we noticed players avoiding the jump pads and walking to their lane instead. To help make them a little more obvious, we’ve added some snazzy new VFX to indicate their presence and what they do.

Skin Selection

We've all got our favourite skins for our favourite Heroes, but having to select it every time you go into a match doesn't feel great. With v1.1 the game will save your last skin selection for each character so your Heroes are always looking their best!

Renamed Sprays

Previously most sprays were named based on the Hero they were created in the likeness of. They are now named to represent the emotion they convey instead.

Adjusted Skin Button

We've changed the position and wording of the "Skin" button on the Main Menu thanks to your feedback. The button now reads "View Skin" (or "View Hero"), and has been moved towards the bottom right of the screen.

Who doesn’t love new items?! We always want to encourage build diversity in Predecessor, and the following items should help to give the meta a little shake up while giving you even more options for how you want to build and play your Heroes.

Hero Balance Changes

Web Banner Countess

Countess is receiving some minor changes aimed at pivoting her damage profile further towards magical itemisation, with her Blade Siphon having lower inherent damage but higher Scaling, and some increases to her raw durability, thereby reducing the efficacy or need for tankier purchases such as Fire Blossom.

General:

Physical Armor Growth increased from 2.85 to 3.05.

Blade Siphon [Alternate]:

Damage decreased from 95/125/155/185/215 to 95/120/145/170/195.

Magical Power Scaling increased from 50% to 55%.

Web Banner Crunch

Crunch is receiving some increased healing from his Ultimate’s Passive effect, reinforcing his level-6 power-spike and allowing him more success in extended duels.

Re-Crunch [Ultimate]:

Healing increased from 20/60/100 to 25/65/105.

Web Banner Greystone

Greystone sometimes finds himself unable to transition his pressure into meaningful advantages, often struggling to find trade windows on more mobile opponents. To help bring him into greater contention, some additional uptime is being granted to Make Way to create less downtime between trading windows in lane while providing him with faster general clear speeds. Likewise, some additional sticking power and damage threat is being granted throughout his kit to better allow Greystone to translate a pressure advantage into a kill.

General:

Attack Speed Growth increased from 1.6 to 1.9

Make Way [Primary]:

Cooldown decreased from 12/11.25/10.5/9.75/9 to 12/11/10/9/8.

Sacred Oath [Secondary]:

Slow increased from 12% to 13%.

Assault The Gates [Alternate]:

Bonus Physical Power Scaling increased from 75% to 90%.

Web Banner Grim

The previous round of changes to Grim.exe pushed down his strength a little too far, with him largely falling out of favor as a result. We’re partially reverting the BAT increase to a healthier middle-point to ensure he is adequately rewarded for investing into Attack Speed and better able to match the DPS of other Carries considering his immobility. Likewise, we’re  offering him some additional Scaling to his Displacement Blast to ensure it stays relevant throughout a match, be that in a Physical or Magical build.

General:

BAT decreased from 1.25 to 1.2.

Displacement Blast [Primary]:

Bonus Physical Power Scaling increased from 90% to 95%.

Magical Power Scaling increased from 75% to 80%.

Web Banner Iggy&Scorch

Iggy is receiving some long-requested changes to his Molotov, with it now possessing a shorter overall range. This will reduce the frequency at which Iggy can safely fight from afar and default to passive gameplay, reinforcing his more mid-range identity and bringing some additional risk to his loop. As a consequence of this lower range, we can now offer Iggy some additional strength throughout his kit, bringing more parity to his risk and reward profile now that he must play at closer ranges to be as effective.

General:

Health decreased from 765 to 750.

Oil Spill [Secondary]:

Magical Power Scaling increased from 30% to 35%.

Burn Damage Magical Power Scaling increased 8% to 10%.

Molotov [Alternate]:

Damage decreased from 95/120/145/170/195 to 85/110/135/160/185.

Magical Power Scaling increased from 40% to 45%.

Projectile Speed decreased by 15%.

Projectile Gravity increased by 10%.

Max Range decreased from approximately 3500 to 2500.

Web Banner Khaimera

Khaimera continues to have a difficult time holding his own in the later stages of a match, often falling off when damage ramps up in the late-game. As a result, some additional regeneration is being granted to his Passive, better reinforcing his healing identity and further allowing him to soak damage in fights when he avoids being locked down.

Spirit Regeneration [Passive]:

Health Regen per Stack changed from 0.6/0.7/0.8/0.9/1/1.2/1.4/1.6/1.8/2/2.3/2.6/2.9/3.2/3.5/3.9/4.3/4.7 to 0.5/0.65/0.8/0.95/1.1/1.35/1.6/1.85/2.1/2.35/2.7/3.05/3.4/3.75/4.1/4.55/5/5.45.

Web Banner Kira

Once again Kira is receiving some damage increases to Purge as it can feel too underwhelming to justify the positional risk required to use it successfully in a fight compared to relying exclusively on her base kit.

Purge [Ultimate]:

Total Damage increased from 240/405/570 to 250/450/650.

Web Banner Narbash

Narbash is receiving some additional uptime on his Thunk, better rewarding aggressive play styles that choose to invest in the ability earlier on during the laning phase.

Thunk [Alternate]:

Cooldown decreased from 16/15.5/15/14.5/14 to 16/15.25/14.5/13.75/13.

Web Banner Rampage

Rampage's Pounce ability has been given a little QoL update to bring it line with similar vertical abilities from our other Heroes.

Pounce [Alternate]:

Rampage can now use Pounce while jumping.

Web Banner Revenant

Revenant has recently risen as a mightier contender among the Carries, possessing a strong presence in lane and the ability to leverage this lane-bully strength to achieve a snowball. To ensure it’s not too easy for Revenant to run away with a lead, a small hit to Revenant’s Obliterate is being given, reducing his ability to poke and all-in opponents during the laning phase and better allowing them to hold up to the early pressure.

Obliterate [Primary]:

Damage decreased from 50/65/80/95/110 to 45/60/75/90/105

Web Banner Riktor

Riktor's rise to dominance in the Offlane is largely due to his ability to take heavy short-trades with his Riot Shield and the raw damage offered by maxing out Shock Therapy. Some slight hits are being levied to both, with his lane opponents now better able to take trades and duel against him as the mid-game rolls around.

Riot Shield [Passive]:

Max Health Scaling decreased from 12% to 11%.

Shock Therapy [Primary]:

Damage changed from 85/130/175/220/265 to 90/130/170/210/250.

Web Banner Sparrow

Sparrow has fallen out of favour since her previous rounds of aggressive adjustments back in v0.18-0.19, often struggling to justify her place in a team over another Carry due to her inherent lack of safety. An increase to her Relentless damage and Piercing Shot uptime is being granted to offer her a more stable laning phase and a smoother transition from the early to late-game, better allowing her to secure a position of strength throughout a match.

Relentless [Passive]:

Max Health Damage per Stack increased from 0.35% to 0.4%.

Piercing Shot [Alternate]:

Cooldown decreased from 14/12.5/11/9.5/8 to 13/11.5/10/8.5/7

Web Banner Wraith

Wraith’s recent rise in strength is largely due to his ability to secure an aggressive snowball while simultaneously remaining difficult to punish in lane thanks to the distance he can cover with his Camo’. A hit to both is required, with Knock, Knock possessing less raw Scaling meaning Wraith cannot as easily run away with a game when ahead in Gold, and a decrease to Surprise, Surprise’s duration to better allow his enemies to stick to, and punish him when he is caught out of position.

Surprise, Surprise! [Secondary]:

Duration decreased from 4 to 3.5.

Knock, Knock! [Alternate]:

Bonus Physical Power Scaling decreased from 130% to 120%

Web Banner Zinx

Zinx’s ability to dish out meaningful amounts of damage while being able to reset a fight with her Ultimate makes her a significant threat in fights. To ensure her damage profile is not as high and her general impact on fights is lessened, some Scaling Damage is being stripped back from Bad Medicine, and the amount of Health and Mana restored on successful Resurrection decreased.

Bad Medicine [Secondary]:

Explosion Magical Power Scaling decreased from 45% to 40%.

Neural Regenesis [Ultimate]:

Health and Mana Restored on Resurrect decreased from 40%/50%/60% to 35%/45%/55%.

Item Balance Changes

Crest:

Web Banner Items Soulbearer

Some additional Movement Speed is being granted to Soulbearer, allowing it to better compete with Epoch and better serve those Mages looking to stay nimble in a fight.

Anima Movement Speed increased from 10% to 12%.

Web Banner Items Tempest

Tempest is receiving some adjustments to its damage to reduce the power spike it offers to Magical Bruisers, with it now dealing less upfront damage (and therefore healing less) on acquisition but Scaling heavier throughout the match with Magical Power builds.

Overcharge Damage decreased from 20 to 15.

Overcharge Magical Power Scaling increased from 12% to 15%.

Web Banner Items Typhoon

Though it is niche by nature, Typhoon can struggle to provide enough Attack Speed to differentiate itself from other Crest choices or to justify its choice in the later stages of a match due to its lower Scaling. A small bump up is being offered, allowing Magical Attack Speed builds additional room to flourish and a smoother power curve throughout a match.

Cyclone Magical Power Scaling increased from 3% to 4%.

Web Banner Items Razorback

Tanks have seen a return to form as of late, with a large portion of their strength residing in Razorback’s ability to dissuade aggression from attackers. A decrease to its duration is being levied to provide a smaller window of inaction for the attackers, better allowing them to survive the duration and return fire.

Echidna Duration decreased from 6 to 5.

Web Banner Items Nyr Warboots

Despite its initiation strength, Nyr Warboots struggles to compete with Razorback and Saphir’s as a survivability tool and is receiving some additional healing to bring it into better parity.

Resilience Health Regeneration increased from 2% to 2.5%.

Web Banner Items Saphirs Mantle

Saphir’s lost some of its identity as a stacking health tool in the switch over to 6-items, with it often feeling inferior to the safer option of Razorback due to how long it can take to stack up. To close this gap, some additional Health Scaling is being granted to its effect, increasing the rate at which it can be stacked throughout a match.

Atlas Damage Bonus Health Scaling increased from 1% to 1.25%.

Web Banner Items Leafsong

A minor change to Leafsong Movement Speed to round out the number and provide it with a little extra punch..

Phantom Rush Movement Speed increased from 38% to 40%.

Carry:

Web Banner Items Ashbringer

Due to it lacking a damaging component to its effect, Ashbringer can struggle to compete with other Attack Speed options that offer more meaningful damage bumps through their effects. Therefore, an increase to its Physical Power is being granted to provide for more stat efficiency on the item and further compensate for its more utility-oriented nature.

Physical Power increased from 20 to 25.

Web Banner Items lightning hawk

While Carries are undoubtedly strong as a class, Crit carries can often lack significant agency in the earlier stages of a match until they get their core build online. As a small step towards reducing the early-game autonomy gap, an increase in raw Physical Power is being granted to ‘Hawk, in return for some reduced late-game Scaling to its effect.

Physical Power increased from 40 to 45.

Chilling Momentum Total Physical Power Scaling decreased from 30% to 25%.

Web Banner Items Sky Splitter

Sky Splitter is seeing a reduction to its minimum damage to further reduce its value as an early pick-up against targets with smaller health pools given how versatile it already is.

Rend Minimum Damage decreased from 15 to 12.

Assassin:

Another bump up in Omen’s Cooldown Reduction effect, better allowing it to serve as a refresher for higher cooldown abilities such as Kallari’s Death Mark, or Feng Mao’s Reaping Dash.

Bestial Momentum Cooldown Refund increased from 20% to 25%.

Mage:

Web Banner Items Megacosm

Megacosm provides a little too much universal value, offering both substantial Tank killing capabilities while also providing a significant bulk of Magical Power. A reduction in both is needed to ensure that high health targets are not burned through too quickly, and that there is a clearer Magical Power tradeoff compared to other Mage options when damaging targets with lower health pools.

Magical Power decreased from 75 to 70.

Star Killer Bonus Health Damage decreased from 6% to 5.5%.

Tank:

Fire Blossom is receiving a small hit to its Health Stat, trimming off some of its raw durability and efficacy as a first buy to match other classes' first buy strengths more closely.

Health decreased from 400 to 375.
